How did this begin?
Founded in 1968, noted historian Roy A. Cann, along with a group of other historically minded Hart Countians, created The Hart County Historical Society to preserve genealogical documents and historical artifacts in our museum. The Society continues to provide our community with enjoyable and educational events, as well as building our family tree files in our library.
We hold a banquet each year to honor Roy A. Cann and present awards in his name to deserving citizens of Hart County who have contributed tirelessly to fulfill the vision of the founders of the Hart County Historical Society. Previous awards are listed below.
