4th Annual Roy A Cann Award Banquet

Join us for the 4th Annual Roy A. Cann Award Banquet on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at Hart County Fairgrounds in their Agriculture Building. Doors will open at 5:30 PM with the dinner beginning at 6:00 PM (Central Time). The cost is $25 per person. Tables of 6 or 8 are also available with phone call to the museum at 270-524-0101.


This evening promises to be both enjoyable and educational. Come on out with your friends and enjoy a catered meal while we show our thanks to Hart Countians who have helped the historical society keep our history preserved for future generations.


**Proceeds from this event will go to our technology fund.

How did this begin?
Founded in 1968, noted historian Roy A. Cann, along with a group of other historically minded Hart Countians, created The Hart County Historical Society in order to maintain genealogical documents and historical artifacts in our museum.  The Society continues to provide our community with enjoyable and educational events as well as building our family tree files in our library.

We hold a banquet each year to honor Roy A. Cann and present awards in his name to deserving citizens of Hart County who have contributed tirelessly to fulfill the vision of the original founders of the Hart County Historical Society.  Previous awards are listed below.

2024 Roy A Cann Awards for Preservation Hart County History
Preservation Awards: Justin Baird, Jim Lacy, Roger Goodman, Calvin Childress, Shane Butler, Jean Hedgepeth, Teddy Dillard
